Open Internship Positions

Smart Ads is looking to fill 5 unpaid internship positions based in Uganda. The internships are tailored for students who want to explore a career in the humanitarian, relief and international development sector.

Objectives of the Internships

  1. To enhance the knowledge and enrich the educational experience of students who want to explore a career in the humanitarian, relief and development sector by providing them with practical immersive field work experience in Africa
  2. To create competent and dynamic professionals that will contribute to the advancement of sustainable international development.
  3. To train and expose students to the systems and processes of  humanitarian, relief and development work and to enable them understand how stakeholders interact within the international development arena.
  4. To provide community development organizations with the much needed human resources from students with diverse cultural and academic backgrounds
  5. Provide students with a firsthand look at what their governments’ foreign aid and development assistance does in developing countries.
  6. To create a platform for students to demonstrate their generosity by supporting different causes in developing countries.

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for an internship, applicants must meet the following criteria

  • Have interest in the humanitarian, relief and  international development sector.
  • Be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program.
  • Be proficient in English.  
  • Have excellent academic performance.

Students can apply for funding through The U.S. Department of State’s Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship, a grant program that enables them to study or intern abroad.
